The NIHR Alder Hey Clinical Research Facility (CRF) provides a state-of-the-art and dedicated environment for patients, healthcare professionals, and academic and commercial partners to deliver leading edge research, placing Alder Hey at the forefront of improving the health and well-being of children and young people. It is the first ever facility of its kind in Merseyside and Cheshire.
Trò chơi bài pokerIn April 2017, the CRF received a substantial grant from the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR), enabling Alder Hey to further pioneer research to benefit children and young people. The facility is staffed by an expert team of paediatric research delivery staff including research nurses, doctors (including those with specialist clinical pharmacology knowledge), clinical trial pharmacists, research physiotherapist, research play specialist and clinical trial coordinators. This enables the CRF to safely deliver complex research studies of new medications and interventions, including those requiring inpatient overnight care.
Trò chơi bài pokerThe facility is fully equipped and purpose built to carry out experimental medicine and early phase research studies. The child friendly environment of the facility enhances the experience of all those involved in research and helps encourage greater participation.

Studies conducted on the CRF are done so to strict Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards. Sitting in the heart of Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, it is located close to critical care, medical inpatient facilities and supported by clinical support services. This means Alder Hey is providing the highest possible quality environment for safety, clinical and research governance.

The CRF team provides an outreach role, working with clinical teams in Paediatric Intensive Care, Oncology, A&E and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at .
In addition we work in collaboration with the team at the to offer a “life-course” platform for research in the city of Liverpool and across the region.
Importantly the CRF works in partnership with the academic sector, including the Faculties of and at the University of Liverpool; at Liverpool John Moores University and the at the University of Central Lancashire to design and deliver research studies.
